Fresh start...

As I start my last year of my 20s, I've been thinking to myself that I wanted to achieve something new and personal this year. I've always been one to keep my new year's resolutions (and no not the cliche weight loss ones...because let's be real here...). This year I wanted to do something bigger and part of something I am really passionate about. What else? COOKING!

I never grew up a typical kid where I would come home after school and watch cartoons all afternoon. I came home watching the Food Network and anything related to cooking. I even loved those old programs in the 90s with Italian grandmothers who some how made it on TV and cooking you their best pasta dish - my dream! I can confidently say I am still the same. There's nothing more relaxing and comforting than switching on channel 56.

Cooking has always been a part of my life. My parents may have not been professional chefs but I grew up watching them cook a variety of dishes from Filipino to Indian to Middle Eastern and anything else in between. I was lucky enough to have part of my childhood in Dubai as well as living in the Greater Toronto now. Being exposed to different culture, cuisine and flavours has given me the appreciation for everything FOOD. I've also traveled quite a bit growing up and into my adulthood where I was able to expand my palette.

So where does this take me? The ambitious goal to start a cooking blog. I've actually always posted my recipes or pictures of what I've cooked but I must admit, I've been horrible at writing down the recipes. I love picking a place in the world and just making up a dish with what I think the flavours are from that place.

You will see that my recipes are very eclectic and random .... or offer "variety". I offer anything from curries, pastas, baked treats, meats, vegan, vegetarian, healthy, fresh and the options go on! I am a 9 to 5er and live in the heart of Downtown Toronto, time is precious to me. So , did I mention my recipes are quick and easy? Made for the average busy body, food lovers or those who are afraid to go anywhere near the kitchen.

Here are remnants of the old blog that I wanted to keep.  I think it's pretty obvious when I started to become better at using different ingredients and obvious I got a better camera rather than my "pixelated" camera phone

Well , here I go! Wish me luck!
I really hope you enjoy
